    Why the word "deal" should be the furthest thing from your mind when home shopping

    Everyone likes a deal...even me,

    but let's think about what that word defines and then relate it back to the place where you are going to spend the moments of your life; your home.

    A deal is generally a product that is considered subpar or was undesirable in the consumer marketplace so it has been "marked down" or put "on sale" in order to get rid of it and move on to the next best thing.

    We see it all the time with last year's clothes and generic brand products; signs that scream, "Buy one, get one!" or "Closeout". Is that really the place where you want to go cheap? Your house?

    Not me! That should left on the WalMart shelf! The only person that should be shopping for a "deal" is a house flipper or real estate wholesaler. That's their business model and is a commodity for their company, NOT THEIR PERSONAL HOME. 

    Keep in mind that when you shop for a bargain, you are going to get a bargain product. For a house that means sacrificing location,

    Any home that has been on the market for a significant amount of time IN OUR AREA has a reason behind it. Maybe it has structural or mechanical issues, it could be backed up to an interstate, or the surrounding area is undesirable such as a commercial shopping center or trucking distribution center. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. That saying is as true today as it was 50 years ago.

Your personal home should be the #1 item that you SPEND EXACTLY WHAT YOU CAN COMFORTABLY AFFORD THAT FITS YOUR LIFESTYLE AND YOUR FAMILY...PERIOD.
