    Extracurriculars to help your kids adjust to the move

    It is just as hard on children as it is on adults to move to a new city. Adjustment to their new surroundings and making friends is crucial. Let's take a look at some of the great places for kids to get out that excess energy, make friends, and have fun too!


    Asheville Sun Soo Martial Arts

    This place is always packed! And I see lots of smiles! They have classes for all ages as well as summer camps, an after school program, and family classes so that all of you can have a great time together.

    The Asheville Ballet

    The Asheville Ballet is North Carolina's oldest non-profit regional ballet company. They not only hold performances throughout the year but they have a full range of classes for all age groups as well as the Blue Ridge Dance Camp.

    The Asheville Shield Football Club

    For all of you soccer enthusiasts, the Asheville Shield is a club sports league that ranges from competitive, development, recreation, and summer camp leagues. Check them out and get your kids running and kicking! It's a great way to build sportsmanship too.

    For those who are more creatively inclined, Jan's Art Academy offers fine arts classes for kids ages 7-14 in pencil, pastel, colored pencil, acrylic, collage, watercolor,  oils, pen & ink, charcoal, construction, clay, paper mache, printmaking, and MIXED media. They also have an after school program.
