It is just as hard on children as it is on adults to move to a new city. Adjustment to their new surroundings and making friends is crucial. Let's take a look at some of the great places for kids to get out that excess energy, make friends, and have fun too!
Asheville Sun Soo Martial Arts
This place is always packed! And I see lots of smiles! They have classes for all ages as well as summer camps, an after school program, and family classes so that all of you can have a great time together.
The Asheville Ballet
The Asheville Ballet is North Carolina's oldest non-profit regional ballet company. They not only hold performances throughout the year but they have a full range of classes for all age groups as well as the Blue Ridge Dance Camp.
The Asheville Shield Football Club
For all of you soccer enthusiasts, the Asheville Shield is a club sports league that ranges from competitive, development, recreation, and summer camp leagues. Check them out and get your kids running and kicking! It's a great way to build sportsmanship too.
Western North Carolina Youth Sports Association
This is your home for baseball and softball. They even have a recreational league for adults!
Jan's Art Academy
For those who are more creatively inclined, Jan's Art Academy offers fine arts classes for kids ages 7-14 in pencil, pastel, colored pencil, acrylic, collage, watercolor, oils, pen & ink, charcoal, construction, clay, paper mache, printmaking, and MIXED media. They also have an after school program.
Asheville Performing Arts Academy
Calling all budding actors and actresses, this year long program is designed to introduce and develop your child's love for musical theater. They also have a youth community theater as well.
We have a lot to offer here in our mountain city for your children to develop their talents wherever they choose to take them!
